Senior Associate/Manager - Business Valuations(Investment Banking)


Roles & Responsibilities:


1. Perform business valuations for transactions (including but not limited to Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A)), financial reporting and shareholder disputes.

2. Actively contribute to report generation and detailed financial modelling.

3. Demonstrated ability to work independently, interface with client management, gather facts, organize data, analyse financial statements and other financial data, identify relevant issues, and propose solutions.

4. Utilizing Valuation techniques and methodologies such as Discounted Cash Flow (DCF), Income Approach, market comparable, etc.

5. Knowledge of intangible asset valuation, purchase price allocation, cheap stock valuations (409A) for VC backed companies, ESOP valuation will be added advantage.

6. Experience in computing the fair market value of intangibles such as brand value, customer contracts, patents, research and development, customer relations, and other such intangibles.

7. Keep up to date with latest developments in certain target industry sectors as well relevant valuation regulations / accounting standards and tax regulations impacting valuation issues.

8. Excellent Knowledge of various databases utilized in Valuation (e.g., Capital IQ, Bloomberg, Venture Intelligence, Mergermarket etc)

- Kindly note that this will be a front-end role.

Desired Skills:

1. Proficiency in using MS Office package(Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

2. Ability to prepare detailed financial models and technical reports.

3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills

4. Must have analytical capability and the ability to think strategically.

5. Should be a strong team player and self-starter with ability to assume responsibility quickly.

6. Open to contribute in individual capacity and willingness/ capability to work on variety of assignments.

7. Must exhibit a strong learning curve.

8. Strong project management skills

9. Ability to work with limited supervision.

10. Ability to travel if required.

Preferred Qualifications and other Pre-requisites:

1. 2-8 years of relevant valuation experience including financial analysis, modelling and transaction experience.

2. Experience with working in consulting/advisory firm and client management.

3. Strong knowledge of accounting and corporate finance concepts
