ACG - Chief Operating Officer

Job Objective:

To be accountable for end to end delivery of operational targets including production volumes at required quality levels, profitability and cost optimization while also driving compliance, continuous improvement, and new product operationalization

To be responsible for supply chain metrics

Primary Responsibilities:

Strategic and planning :

- Support the CEO in the development of long-term or strategic plans for Business

- Develop operating strategy (covering production, quality and supply chain) in line with business strategy.

- Review and approve budgets and individual performance KRAs for all operating functions

- Functional 

Operations Management :

- Cascade the operational strategy into its individual components - i.e. Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality etc.

- Hold end accountability for delivery of operational performance such as production volumes, quality, cost of materials, improvement projects etc. Monitor performance against plans

- Monitors Manufacturing performance (consolidated across all plants) on parameters such as lead time, FTR, OTDIF etc. and takes corrective action for course correction in case of deviations

- Ensure compliance of operating organization to laws and regulations (around EHS, Quality etc.) and also ensure alignment with industry standards

Supply Chain Management :

- Review and approve sourcing and supplier selection strategy domestically and internationally

- Monitor identification and empanelment of cost effective vendors/suppliers for procurement and logistics

- Monitor continuous cost reduction in supply chain activities

- Hold the Supply Chain Head accountable for delivery on SCM metrics (such as costs, timely dispatch and delivery, timely procurement etc.)

- Ensuring sourcing as well as dispatch of materials within budgets and at required quality levels

- Operations Projects, Engineering and Maintenance

- Monitor planning and implementation of projects in the existing plant including costs, timelines and quality. Intervene in case of escalations or issues

Continuous Improvement :

- Review business case and provide final approval on large scale continuous improvement initiatives.

- Drives implementation of large scale changes for process improvements through Continuous Improvement Head and guide the organization on effective implementation of tools such as Kaizen, 6S, 7QC, 6 Sigma, Kanban etc

- Quality and Regulatory Affairs

- Oversee overall quality metrics for all production and improvement activity across the Business

- Work with the Quality and RA head to define quality processes and procedures to ensure 100% compliance

- Resolve conflicts and escalations between Manufacturing and Quality. Ensure escalations are handled in a timely manner
