Job Purpose:
To manage overall Manufacturing operation at site & liase with all stakeholders & Abbott affiliates to facilitate uninterrupted manufacturing activities to enable organisation meets customer's expectation & facilitates team in achieving company KPIs.
Environment, Health and Safety
- Ensure self and team members consistently follow all EHS rules and procedures.
- Ensure self and team members immediately report any EHS incident and/or near misses (unsafe acts and conditions) promptly to stakeholders
- Attend all required safety training and medical surveillance program requirements.
- Ensure self and team members wear all required PPE.
- Consistently take a leadership role in identifying team members who are and are not following procedures
- Complete required STOP observations
Incur zero injuries of self and team members as a result of unsafe action/behaviour or failure to follow established procedures or guidelines.
- Identify and report to supervision opportunities to reduce energy and water use, waste generation within my work area.

- Overall responsibilities for Job holder should to achieve manufacturing objectives as per company's current and yearly growth by apply the knowledge of basic principles, methods, technologies and practices of a 'professional/technical field and general knowledge of procedures and activities within own work area as well as managerial & analytical skills.
The job holder should focus on learning the key aspects and duties of the job being performed.

Key Responsibilities:
Primary Function:
- Provide future leadership for the Manufacturing Department, directing operations to ensure that safety, quality, environmental, production output, product cost and other department objectives are achieved.
- Put in place an effective operational structure for the Manufacturing Department and anticipate talents and skills required to meet future needs in the Manufacturing Department and work to develop peoples' capabilities to meet these needs.
- Ensure compliance to all Abbott policies and procedures, meeting all local statutory requirements and meeting regulatory requirements of countries to which products are shipped.
- Drive the Business Excellence Program and Lean/Sigma continuous improvement initiatives in the Manufacturing Department.
- Set aggressive goals and targets for the Manufacturing Department and utilizes KPIs to monitor and improve performance.
- Carry out benchmarking exercises for India manufacturing operations against industry best practices, with the objective of improving and optimizing plant performance.
- Recognize crisis situations and make decisions to implement corrective actions at the earliest indication of trouble, even if such decisions delay output, require changes in direction or established goals or negatively impact people.
- Interface with Division Management particularly in the areas of Business Excellence and participate as a supportive member of the Abbott Nutrition manufacturing management team.
- Ensure good communication and cooperation by encouraging knowledge sharing and open exchange of ideas within the Manufacturing Department and with other departments.
- Promote and foster good human relations within the Manufacturing Department and plant-wide.
- Ensure all plant and equipment is maintained to the highest level of safety and work to avoid lost time accidents, with immediate response and thorough investigations and corrective actions for all hazardous occurrences and accidents.
- Liaise with Human Resources in the recruitment and selection of personnel for the Manufacturing Department, in full compliance with company policies and procedures and legislation for recruitment and selection.
- Ensure continued implementation of the Performance Excellence initiative throughout the manufacturing department, completing all goals, performance reviews and growth plans as scheduled.
- Provide leadership in the Manufacturing Department with respect to best practice initiatives such as CAPA, HACCP and ISO systems.
- Actively participate in the Sales and Operating Planning process
- Prepare and ensure achievement of the Financial Plans/Updates and compliance with financial policies and procedures, providing direction particularly in the areas of cost improvement.
- Maintain the awareness of the need for ongoing change and continuous improvement.
- Support preparations for quality audits and other external audits to achieve successful results.
- Lead plant compliance programs in Safety, GMP and Quality.
- Proactively support all quality initiatives and provide leadership when dealing with quality issues.
- Undertake special assignments or projects as directed by the Site Director - Initiate project to improve the quality, efficiency and safety of the lines and departments.

Experience/Knowledge/Technical Skills Required:
- Bachelors Degree in Electrical/Mechanical.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Good human relation skills in dealing with employees at all levels
- The ability to organize, motivate and develop people.
- The ability to identify quality problems and address these using CAPA and other appropriate principles and techniques.
- Good problem solving and analytical skills.
- 10 years experience in operations position in a manufacturing environment in medium or large scale industry with at least 2 years experience in a management role.
