Dimensions of the Role :

The role is responsible for on-site supervision of key ingredient suppliers and third Party manufacturing sites. It is a very challenging role as the incumbent will be onsite Abbott representative who will work with Third party Manufacturing site and key ingredient suppliers and develop them to the Abbott expectations in terms of technical, GMP and other quality standards as per Abbott guidelines The role envisages the achievement of manufacturing targets meeting all Key Performance Indicators at site.

Key Responsibilities :

- The incumbent might have to relocate/travel to other supplier locations.

- Key responsibility of the role would be to ensure consistent quality and quantity fulfillment of supplies through effective communications with key stake holders

- Keep alignment between the supplier/TPM, purchase and factory team/Supply chain team on quantities (ingredients + RM- s) to be delivered, shipment schedules, quality assurance methods, specifications and technical protocol.

- Managing the day to day action plans and communication with QA and technical operations team.

- Identifying cost saving opportunities and working with ANRD/QA to identify and execute the quality system, GMP, and operational improvements.

- Establishing close and effective working relationship with the main functions of the supplier such as Planning, Purchasing, Finance, Quality Assurance, Compliance, Supply Chain, and Logistics.

- Working with QA to facilitate disposition of nonconforming product, quarantine shipments, complaint follows up, tracking, and closeout.

- Will undertake technical trails and improvement projects at suppliers/TPM.

- Support qualification of new suppliers ensuring implementation.

- Deploy risk mitigation programs to limit exposure to supply disruptions due to technical or quality issues.

- Drive technical improvement strategies (trials and projects) at supplier premises that support India operation objectives and align with the division as appropriate.

Experience/Knowledge/Technical Skills Required:

- Bachelor/Masters Degree in Dairy Technology/ Food Science, Engineering or similar discipline

- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in some or all of the following disciplines: Third Party Manufacturing, Supplier Development, technical services, supplier quality assurance, Plant operations

- Hands on experience is preferred in manufacture of dairy ingredients (especially milk powders), nutrition powders and UHT products managing scope of start-ups, quality assurance, and technical oversight

- Additional practical experience with a) aspects of micro-contaminants b) specific knowledge of technologies or practices related to processing and packaging, spray drying, dry blending, traceability, line clearance is a plus.
