About the role :
We are looking for an autonomous, trustworthy resource for heading and leading our finance operations in Goa. The individual will be involved in the full range of finance operations and accounting activities. The role involves high levels of trust and confidentiality as the individual will be responsible to maintain the financial hygiene for all our assets in Goa and be the only touch point for our central finance team in Gurgaon. The individual is expected to have prowess to work independently and monitor the operations while making analytical and accurate decisions for business profitability.
Key responsibilities :
- Providing financial reports to the senior management and interpreting financial information while recommending further courses of action
- Providing ad-hoc support and assistance, and being the first point of contact for all finance related matters
- Maintaining the financial health for Goa location by preparing and maintaining project financial projections, budgets and cash flow tracking
- Ensure accuracy of the Fixed Asset Register
- Monitoring the day-to-day financial operations
- Managing vendor payments and daily expenses
- Conducting reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities
- Acting as liaison with the project management team and tracking compliance
- Collaborating with asset and property management staff for development of projects and to transition financial management of projects from development to operations
- Assisting the central team with monthly reconciliations, accounting, cost segregations, balance sheet finalization, statutory filings, returns and provide development financial reporting as needed
- Maintaining an accurate filing and record keeping system for all financial statements and company documents
- Participating in the execution of changes to procedures, policies, and systems to bolster expansion, compliance, and scaling of the business
- Looking into strengthening current internal controls and process improvement
- Ensuring smooth execution of business processes with administrative and financial monitoring
- Tracking the company's financial status and portfolio performance to identify areas of improvements
- Collaborating with other departments, discussing company plans and agreeing on future paths to be taken to ensure appropriate monitoring of company finances is maintained
Skills and qualifications :
- Proven experience of autonomously handling finances for a corporate at a managerial level
- Ability to manage, guide and lead employees to ensure appropriate financial processes are being used
- A good understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles
- Excellent business judgment and ability to supervise or monitor business/financial operations
- Impeccable negotiation skills and the ability to develop strong working relationships
- Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
- Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
- High degree of professional ethics and integrity
- Problem-solving aptitude and eye for detail
