Position summary :   Title : Senior Analyst -Eminence CoE Oil & Gas  Function : Enabling Areas   Service Area : Market Development   Service Line : Eminence CoE   Location : Hyderabad  The key job responsibilities include the following :  - The successful candidate will conduct advanced level research, writing, and analysis in the O&G (and also in P&U) sector and assist leadership in building eminence for Deloitte in the marketplace.   - The candidate will be part of the R&E team and will collaborate with the energy industry leaders and account teams in developing and deployment of point-of-view (POV) reports based on primary and secondary research.  - The professional needs to develop, write, and deploy thought leadership and intelligence projects primarily in the O&G sector, and to some degree in the P&U sector.   - The incumbent will need to develop research ideas, frame hypothesis, analyze quantitative and qualitative data, synthesize findings, demonstrate strong writing and presentation skills, and review and assess team's work and performance.  The professional will be required to :  - Demonstrate O&G sector expertise in identifying differentiated research opportunities.  - Design research proposal, build consensus, and formulate research plan.  - Interact with internal and external subject matter experts on a topic.  - Liason with U.S. colleagues to understand, refine, and manage clients- expectations and priorities.  - Structure, organize, and synthesize information to provide key insights in a well written and visually appealing formats (Word, PPT, etc.) Members with publications credits will be preferred.  - Apply established research tools and methodologies to support business decision-making.  - Demonstrate strong writing skills as required for intelligence and thought leadership reports.  - Display strong consultative and engaging presentation skills  - Manage all aspects of engagement/project to ensure outcomes and meet deadlines.  The key skills required are as follows :  - Prior exposure to business research/thought leadership in O&G sector.  - Knowledge of the U.S. P&U sector is preferred.  - Experience in one or more of the following research methods:  - Forecasting/simulation, text analytics, big data, statistical & financial analysis, case studies, and econometrics.  - Solid problem-solving and critical thinking skills.  - Strong verbal and written communication skills.  - Exposure to working in teams, including virtual teams.  - Knowledge of online databases like Bloomberg, SNL, EnergyAcuity, Hoovers, Factiva, One Source, Thomson, etc.  - Understanding of strategy models and frameworks.  - Knowledge of MS Office with strong skills in MS PowerPoint and MS Excel.  - Team management and counseling experience.  - Highly developed personal and professional ethics are expected.  - An ability to build professional relationships, a spirit of co-operation, and a flexible approach to work are required.  - Experience in working with US clients is a plus.
