One of our clients (A leading KPO Company in Chennai) is looking for AVP / GM – HR for their operations in Chennai.

Job Title:  AVP / General Manager – Human Resources

Job Definition: AVP / GM - HR is responsible directing and facilitating the organization in all HR initiatives. Responsible for Talent Management, Retention Management, Change Management, Training Development, Payroll Benefits and Statutory compliance.

Reporting Structure:        Reports To     :  Country Head

Peer To         :  AVP’s of other Departments

    Direct Reports: Assistant Manager – Strategic HR and Manager - PSS

 

Inter-departmental Communications:

 

·         Shall closely work with the VP/AVP’s of other teams to meet the Organizational Objectives

·         Shall drive new initiatives to bring change, development and sustain the same

 
Key Responsibility Area (KRA’s):

Ø       Will be completely involved in developing the strategy, business model & technologies to support and deliver “best practices” at an enterprise level

Ø        Responsible for developing a more complete HR Compliance program to include tracking, monitoring & auditing of HR Laws the organization needs to be in compliance from a Human Resources standpoint

Ø       Directs the effective delivery of all services in a compliant and cost effective manner

Ø       Resolves any problems related to operation of Human Resources

Ø       Manages contracting process as needed for all Plans

Ø       Identifies and implements creative alternatives to current processes where appropriate

Ø       Keeps abreast of and ensures effective implementation of all new and changing compliance requirements and delivery alternatives

Ø       Ensure Compliance of all Statutory Regulations (Shops and Establishment Act, Labour Laws, PF, ESI, Payment of  Gratuity Act, Payment of Bonus Act and all other acts

Ø       Ensure information security requirements are embedded in the HR processes

Ø       Point of contact for escalated claim resolution, policy determination and other issues.

Ø       Ensures that new hires and existing staff understand all HR policies and Benefit Plan features, Plan operations and Plan requirements

Ø       Serves as subject matter expert to educate senior management as needed

Ø       Develops communication strategy to insure policies and benefits are being properly utilized and valued

Ø       Works with Payroll team to ensure Payroll/Tax changes are effectively communicated
Design Support

Ø       Participates in annual benefit renewal process

Ø       Identifies best practice design changes and implements them as necessary

SPECIFICATION SHEET

Educational Background:       
  Degree with PG diploma in HR or Post Graduate in HR/MBA from reputed institute in India.

 

Technical Skill Sets:   

 

Strong in HR domain in terms of

-          Payroll, HR Operations

-          HR MIS,PMS, Strategic HR and Change Management

-          People Support/HR Services

-          Innovative/Unique HR Service Desk

-          Statutory compliances/Audit

-          Knowledge of Labor Laws

-          Administration of PF/ESI/Professional Tax/Gratuity/Health Insurance and other Employee Welfare/Benefit schemes


Computer literacy and excellent proficiency in Ms-Office suite is mandatory

Competencies Required (Technical/Functional):        

Skills, Knowledge and/or Experience:  

Ø       Must be a post graduate in HR or MBA from reputed institution.

Ø       Significant technical business knowledge of staffing, organization development, defined contribution, defined benefit plans and health & welfare plans.

Ø       In depth knowledge of government regulations related to benefits.

Ø       Strong negotiation and persuasions skills

Ø       Ability to communicate with and influence multiple constituencies including Legal

Ø       Ability to communicate effectively - both verbally and written with employees and plan vendors.

Ø       Ability to effectively present in front of people.

Ø       Excellent organizational skills required

Ø       Ability to problem solve and use resources effectively

Ø       Demonstrated skills as a leader and managers with a broader business orientation than the technical aspects of HR and benefits

Ø       Ability to provide management support to diverse and unrelated areas


Relevant years of Experience: 12 -15 years of experience in HR in an MNC Environment.
