My client is a leading microfinance institution (MFI) working in northern
India since 1990. It is registered with the Reserve Bank of India as a Non
Banking Finance Company (NBFC) .The Company is managed by professional board
of directors and experienced professionals in all functional areas. The
Company has received financial assistance from various lenders including
public sector banks, private sector banks, foreign banks and multilateral
development institutions.

*Head – Human Resources*

*Position Summary*

The Head of Human Resources is responsible for determining the Human
Resource strategic goals and priorities. **

The Head of Human Resources would report to the Chief Financial Officer and
will participate as a member of the Senior Management Team to plan and
support the growth of Satin Creditcare, coordinating HR infrastructure
efforts.**

*Mandate would include:*

· Would be leading a team of people initially and providing Board
level strategic inputs on employee retention, compensation, OD, Training,
etc. **

· Develop and establish transparent HR policies and systems such as
innovative appraisal systems and succession planning processes through
developmental interventions* *

· Identify skill specific training needs at multi-levels and
develop/coordinate training modules for continuous technical skill and
managerial skill up gradation. **

· Developing a compensation strategy to rationalize existing
salaries and to create a model which can attract and retain high quality
skills**

· Develop processes/tools to manage the culture integration and
transition process**

· Put into place an aggressive skill development and recruitment
programme which prepares the competitive edge of the organization, as well
as supports, its growth plans. **

· Would be required to put into place an organization structure
which makes optimum use of the current resources and provides room for
growth and development for professionals* *

· To build an HR organization which is competent and has high
credibility* *

· Likelihood of the age profile being in their thirties is high.
7-15 years work experience with hands-on expertise in HR with atleast the
last couple of years being spent in strategic leadership roles in the
Financial Services / MFI Industry.

· High quality academic background, with a degree in management with
specialization in Human Resources from a premier institute would be
preferable

· The person should have worked in organization( s) with progressive
and well developed Human Resource practices where people development and
communications have been integral constituents of the work culture.

· A global perspective and exposure to modern HR practices and
techniques is essential. A rounded experience spanning recruitment,
training, OD, manpower planning, appraisals and management development, etc.
would have a distinct advantage.

· Must be able to develop systems and build/adopt HR practices
keeping in mind best international practices and bench-marks.

· It would be essential for the experience to be skewed towards
Financial Services company / MFI, as the understanding in dynamic market
conditions would impact quality recruitment and organizational building
efforts on a continuous scale

· A background in having developed people in organization( s) on a
successful and continuous basis is important

· The person’s experience should include having played key roles in
organization building

· Should be a strategic thinker and display abilities to take long
term view to all plans and programmes

· Some key personality traits/skills should be - high conceptual,
interpersonal, communications and impacting skills, high self confidence
with hands on approach to work, emotional maturity and strategic skills

· Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule and limited
travel.
